WSS Redpoint advises Compounder on a financing round by uni-assist
Autor

WSS Redpoint advises the Cologne-based AI startup Compounder on a mid six-figure financing round by uni-assist GmbH, a subsidiary of uni-assist e.V. The investment is accompanied by a seven-figure development agreement between the parties.

Compounder was founded in 2020 by Paula Vorbeck, Evelyn Wagner and Carmine Siena and focuses on the digitalisation and automation of processes in tertiary education. With its software solution AdmitCheck, the startup uses artificial intelligence to make the university admissions process more efficient. AdmitCheck enables universities to check national and international study applications quickly and digitally. The software checks applications from all over the world for completeness and eligibility for admission within seconds, thereby considerably reducing manual effort and processing times.

Paula Vorbeck on the collaboration: ‘This financing round was a real challenge: a combination of experienced investors and institutions that were new to the startup world and to everything around corporate finance.

The WSS Redpoint team around Peter, Bonny and Björn not only supported us with competent legal advice, but was also available to us around the clock, whether for complex legal questions or simply for a quick, encouraging chat. This combination of professional expertise and human support made the difference for us.

We are incredibly happy with the result and thank our lawyers for their great work, in this round and in all the years before. We are very much looking forward to the tasks that lie ahead of us together!’

WSS Redpoint has provided comprehensive advice to Compounder since 2020. On the current financing round, Peter Siedlatzek, Björn Brücher (both corporate law) and Bonny Kern (IT law, data protection) advised on behalf of WSS Redpoint.
